South Coast

The South Coast region is comprised of five counties situated along the coastal valleys of southern California: Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego.

Its mild climate is mostly influenced by its coastal location, which allows agricultural production on a year-round basis.

This region has a rich agricultural heritage and produces a number of fruit and vegetable crops including avocados, lemons, oranges, strawberries, cabbage, celery and lettuce. Also important to the economy are nursery and flower crops.
