Central Coast
Regional Information About California Produce

The Central Coast region has some of the most fertile, productive agricultural land in the state.
Its temperate climate, with few winter frosts, makes it possible to produce agricultural crops year-round.
It is here that agriculturally important vegetable crops including artichokes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, celery, lettuce, spinach and mushrooms are produced. Fruit crops such as apples, cherries, grapes and strawberries are also of primary importance to the agricultural economy, as are nursery and flower crops.
